Chickamauga Lions' other projects.
Throughout the years, the Chickamauga Lions Club has done far more than sponsor the annual Down Home Days street festival. Since the club's inception in 1967, the members have worked on projects ranging from building sports complexes -- bleachers at GLHS and Pine Forest swimming pool -- to working at the Lions Camp for the Blind in Waycross, Georgia. Some of their current projects are listend below.

Just giving it away ... This year, the Lions sponsored a Harley give-away in conjunction with Down Home Days, but one of the clubs biggest projects each year is the annual truck give-away, held each November.

Handing out the awards ... The club sponsors the Madaris-Walker Academic Awards Banquet each spring, and also awards the James Holcombe Memorial Scholorship to a local high school senior each year.

Ongoing Projects As all Lions Clubs do, the club works year-round to promote vision-related projects and also collects used eye glasses.
